The Install
I shut the gas and water, drained the old tank, removed it, set the new Bradford White unit, reconnected gas and water lines, tested for leaks and proper combustion, and verified hot water at every fixture. Four hours from first call to hot water.
The Permit Question
Jennifer mentioned that another plumber had quoted her a lower price — without pulling a permit. Montgomery County requires a permit for water heater replacement. An unpermitted installation can void your homeowner's insurance and create problems when you sell. I pull every permit on every job.
