The Call
Marcus called me after his water bill jumped $200 in a single month with no explanation. No visible leaks under sinks, no dripping faucets. His water meter was running even with everything off inside. That last detail — meter running with nothing on — is the key diagnostic sign I listen for.
“Angel was fast, honest, and found the leak on the first visit. He explained everything clearly and fixed it with minimal disruption to our floors. Couldn't ask for better. — Marcus T., Arlington VA”
The Detection
I used acoustic detection equipment to locate the leak without breaking anything open first. The sound signature led me to a spot in the hallway — about 4 feet from the exterior wall, under 1968 slab concrete. Pinpoint location before we cut anything.
The Repair
We opened a 12-inch access in the hallway floor, repaired the failed copper coupling, pressure-tested the line, and patched the concrete. Marcus's water bill went back to normal the following month. Total floor disruption: one section, one day.
The Warning Signs
Warm spots on your floor. A running water meter with everything off. Unexplained water bill spike. Wet flooring with no visible source. If you have any of these in your Arlington or DC Metro home, call me. The faster we find it, the less it costs to fix.
