Breakers That Trip Constantly
Breakers trip to protect circuits from overload. If yours are tripping regularly, that's a sign either your panel is undersized for your current load or a specific circuit is being overtaxed. Frequent trips aren't normal — they're a warning.
You're Adding an EV Charger or HVAC System
A Level 2 EV charger draws 30–50 amps. A heat pump adds significant load. If your panel is already near capacity, adding either without an upgrade risks persistent overloads and tripped breakers.
“We upgraded our panel before adding the EV charger and it was the right call. Infinite Electric made the whole process easy. — Zach P., Manassas VA”
Your Home Was Built Before 1980
Many older Northern Virginia homes still have 60A or 100A panels — sized for the electrical loads of their era. Modern homes with multiple large appliances, smart systems, and EVs need at minimum 200A service.
You're Doing a Major Addition or Remodel
Any addition or significant remodel is an opportunity to assess and upgrade your panel. Adding square footage means adding circuits — and the time to address panel capacity is before the drywall goes up.
