About this project
The homeowner wanted to transform a plain living room wall into a focal point that felt connected to the mountain-modern character of the rest of the home. The solution was a custom wood wall in horizontal planks of white oak with a light natural finish, paired with fabricated beams overhead that echo the structural elements of the room. The planks were cut and fit to the exact width and height of the wall, with each board hand-sanded and finished before installation. The beams were built from solid white oak in our shop and installed to appear structurally integrated — they sit flush against the ceiling plane and run perpendicular to the wall, drawing the eye from the feature wall across the ceiling.
