Why DC Metro Homeowners Are Installing Level 2 EV Chargers in 2026

The DC Metro EV Boom

Virginia and Maryland both rank in the top 15 states for EV adoption. With more Teslas, Rivians, and Hyundai Ioniq 5s on the road every month, public charger lines are growing — and homeowners are tired of waiting.

Why Level 2 Beats Level 1

A standard 120V outlet (Level 1) adds about 4 miles of range per hour. A Level 2 charger on a 240V dedicated circuit delivers 25–30 miles per hour — a full charge overnight. For daily commuters in the DC Metro, the difference is night and day.

What the Install Looks Like

We assess your panel capacity, run a dedicated 240V circuit to your garage or driveway, mount the charger, and handle permits. Most installs are completed in a single visit. If a panel upgrade is needed, we handle that too.

Is Your Panel Ready?

Many older DC Metro homes — especially in Arlington and Alexandria — still have 100A panels. An EV charger typically needs 40–50 amps. If your panel can't handle it, we'll quote a panel upgrade alongside the charger install so you're covered for decades.
